Air Quality Testing

Left untreated, compressed air can reduce the performance of your system, impact your equipment, and the quality of your end of line products.

  • Protect your equipment and end products with professional compressed air testing
  • Identify contamination that can reduce system performance and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with required air quality standards and regulations
  • Essential testing for any business relying on compressed air systems

Why Air Quality Testing Matters

No matter what industry or sector you operate, the quality of your compressed air is crucial. If left untreated, compressed air can cause a variety of issues within your compressed air system.

For this reason, compressed air quality testing is essential for any business utilising compressed air as part of their operations. However, depending on the industry you are in can have a big effect on the standard or quality your compressed air needs to be.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN CONTAMINANTS?
Airmatic Compressor Service Provider
Compressed air typically has four main contaminants and if left untreated can reduce the performance of your system, negatively impact your equipment and the quality of your end of line products.

Water

Oil

Micro Organisms

Solid Particles

Air Quality Standards

The compressed air quality completely depends on the environment of which your compressor is situated and the applications for which the compressed air is required. For example, if your business is within the food and beverage or pharmaceutical industries, the air quality needed will be substantially higher than that of a garage. The current international standard for compressed air quality is ISO 8573-1:2010. ISO 8573-1:2010 specifies purity classes of compressed air with respect to particles, water and oil independent of the location in the compressed air system at which the air is specified or measured. ISO 8573-1:2010 provides general information about contaminants in compressed-air systems as well as links to the other parts of ISO 8573, either for the measurement of compressed air purity or the specification of compressed-air purity requirements. In addition to the above-mentioned contaminants of particles, water and oil, ISO 8573-1:2010 also identifies gaseous and microbiological contaminants.
